So at last count, there are now six different organizations for which I now work and derive income, which makes these summer days quite hectic in themselves, but means at least that I do have office space in more places.

I've been amused and pleased for many reasons, even though Wifey has endured the Bar. It was funny because I was on the N train when someone came on and started playing songs (When the Moon Hits Your Eye, and The Godfather Love Song, I believe) on an oboe, and made at least five bucks right then and there in one stop's worth of playing. I guess Wifey will always have that as a backup career.

I also made out like a bandit at the contact lens store when they gave me two extra boxes for free. I'd feel bad, but they overcharged me to begin with.

Other than that, I've been doing little other than profit-taking and budo.

So I've left a lot out: an accepted offer and now into contract on a Sunnyside apartment, the conclusion of my first real grad course, progress on fellowships, advancement kendo-wise, the departure of old friends and the imminent rearrival of others. It's been a strange schedule mostly because wifey's completely inverted his sleep schedule and imminent bar. The summer is 2/3 the way to half over, but I don't dread the fall, but it would be nice to close this transaction sooner rather than later.
